From LiDAR scan to piping model
A room is scanned with the FlowCAD3D Scan app on an iPad Pro or iPhone Pro. The point cloud arrives in the project, and new piping is drawn and checked against the scan.
Scanning
- The app FlowCAD3D Scan for iPad Pro and iPhone Pro with a LiDAR scanner scans a room and sends the point cloud to the project.
- A point cloud is never sent without an action of the user.
Importing point clouds
Point clouds from other scanners are imported as well: LAS 1.0 up to and including 1.4, PLY and ASCII (XYZ, PTS, TXT and CSV), up to 16 million points. What a point cloud is: What is a point cloud?
Drawing on the scan
- New pipes snap to scan points, so that connections and routes follow the existing situation.
- Clash detection checks the new piping against the scan.
- IFC and STEP models are loaded as a reference model next to the scan.
- Walk-through shows the model and the scan at eye level.
