Isometric drawings from the 3D model

Isometric drawings are generated from the 3D model, with automatic dimensions, elevation marks, bill of materials and title block, or drawn directly on a live isometric.

Two ways to an isometric drawing

  1. From the 3D model. The line is drawn in 3D, with components at their real face-to-face lengths. In Drawing sheets, isometric drawings are generated from the model, also per spool.
  2. Isometric drawing. The line is drawn and edited directly on a live isometric; the 3D model is built at the same time.

Both ways give the same result: a 3D model and isometric drawings that belong to it. What an isometric drawing is and what it contains: What is an isometric drawing?

Frequently asked questions

Can isometric drawings be made per spool?

Yes. Isometric drawings are generated per line or per spool, each with its own dimensions and bill of materials.

Which file formats can be exported?

DXF (R12), SVG and PDF for the drawing sheets, and PCF for ISOGEN and other programs. The bill of materials is exported to XLSX and CSV.

Is a 3D model needed for an isometric drawing?

The isometric drawing always belongs to a 3D model. With Isometric drawing the line is drawn on the isometric itself, and the model is built at the same time.
